Did you know it is commonly thought that when a dog's nose is cold and wet that they are healthy but according to Dog Heath.com that is not necessarily true! Did you also know that a dogs sense of smell is 1 million times great than a human?
There is a great article that explains Why Dogs Have Wet Noses on Dog Health.com
You can also check me out with my Wet Nose Wednesday on Instagram and Twitter where if I am not here I am over there.
Hi it is me Kiki and my wet nose Wednesday |

I love wet noses! My dog Lilah's wet nose is featured on my blog today.

Ike's nose is wet because he likes to submerge it in his water bowl!
ReplyDeleteHappy wnw and ww!
I totally understand, I do that too, plus I have a beard so it gets wet as well.
DeleteThanks for saying hello

Hi Kiki! My brother, Küster uses his nose for work. He's a search and rescue dog and his nose knows what's going on! Our sense of smell puts the human nose to shame for sure!

I love snuggling my mom too! Thank you for stopping by!

Thanks for the fun wet nose info. The fact that a dog's sense of smell is 1 million times better than humans makes perfect sense for my puppy Bailey who walks with her nose is stuck to the ground.
ReplyDeleteOh I love walking with my nose dog too, I am good at finding things mom does not want me to eat!
DeleteKiki
That cold/wet nose theory holds true for cats too ;)
ReplyDeleteI did not know that, thanks for sharing!

Oh thank you for telling us something we didn't know about dogs, about the cold wet part, cause Sydney's nose is usually warm and dry.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you will hop on over and read the 10 things we learned about pet rabbits and more on our Dog Leader Mysteries blog.
Glad I could be of help lol! I will come over and say hello!

I've been doing nosework with Mr. N so I can definitely appreciate his keen nose! Kiki looks adorable. Is she named after the Miyazaki character?
ReplyDeleteMy name is actually Yukiko which means Happy in Japanese. The breeder was so happy when myself and my siblings were born that she named us each a name for Happy in another language but when my mom saw me the first time she called me Kiki, We kept the name Yukiko but my family and friends call me Kiki - I am a Happy Havanese!
DeleteKiki :)
We agree! Nothing better than a wet nosed friend ;)
